How do I connect the doorbell to my doorbell wires?

The Cardea 3 doorbell can be connected to your existing doorbell wires. Typically, you will find two wires at your front door, which are to be connected to the Cardea 2. The arrangement of the two wires is irrelevant. If there are more than two wires, for example, from an old intercom system, the two power wires must be connected to the doorbell. It is also important to note that a voltage of AC 12V to 24V is required. You can find this information on your doorbell transformer.

At what height should the doorbell be installed?

The Cardea 3 doorbell should be installed at a height of 1.30 meters to 1.50 meters. If existing doorbell wires are already in place, the mounting height cannot always be freely chosen. First, check if an optimal mounting height is possible. Alternatively, the battery-operated (180 days battery life) ProV1 Video Doorbell, which can be flexibly mounted, is an option.

How do I install the doorbell?

The Cardea 3 doorbell with camera is attached to a mounting plate. A security screw connects the doorbell to the mounting plate. The mounting plate can be screwed or glued as desired. All necessary mounting materials, including a suitable adhesive pad and screws, are included in the delivery. In addition, an angle bracket is provided, with which you can tilt the doorbell by 15 degrees.

Is the doorbell compatible with my phone?

The doorbell and the associated Weber Protect App are compatible with all Android and Apple iOS devices. You can connect all your phones, whether Android or iPhone, to the doorbell. Any number of phones and tablets can be connected to our devices, and all phones can simultaneously access the doorbell or other products.

Is the doorbell compatible with Alexa, Google Nest, or Apple HomeKit?

As Weber Protect, we place great emphasis on data protection and GDPR-compliant data processing. Therefore, all data is transmitted encrypted and is not stored in the cloud. Due to this encryption, it is not possible for third-party providers like Alexa to access video and audio data.

Can the doorbell be used outside of the WLAN?

Access to all functions is possible at any time and from anywhere. The connected phones do not need to be in the same WLAN as the doorbell, but can also access the live video and intercom function at any time using mobile data or different WLAN networks. Only the video doorbell needs to be permanently connected to a WLAN. The phones used can also be logged into different networks, and all can simultaneously use any function.

Can I combine the doorbell with other Weber Protect products?

Any number of Weber Protect products can be connected to the app and controlled simultaneously. For example, you can use surveillance cameras and video doorbells at the same time. Devices at different locations, such as at home and in the office, can also be controlled simultaneously. There is no upper limit to the number of connected devices.
